Something happens
and we deal with it.

How well we deal with it
is a reflection of our
balance and harmony,
which is a reflection of our
association with our original nature
and our innate virtues/strong points/specialties,
which is a reflection of our
consciousness/awareness of,
and our degree of comfort with,
our place within the context
and circumstances of our life--
with our security and stability,
and our ability to meet our basic needs
and to serve our own interests.

How well we live
depends upon our being able
to check the right boxes,
without knowing that there are boxes,
because no one ever goes over
the boxes with us,
and we discover them on our own,
recognizing that we have done that
in hindsight.

Things would be a lot different
if each child born
had the right kind of parents.

As it is,
we have to learn
to parent ourselves
the way we need to be parented.

And that is iffy at best.

Survival of the fittest
works out in real time
to be
survival of the luckiest.

Across the table,
around the world.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters and five granddaughters within about twenty minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
