Sunrise and Curtis Island Headlight Oil Paint Rendered — Camden, Maine
We cannot fix/change/improve/etc. anyone
without their permission.

Psychotherapy comes to grief upon this.

And yet,
we all grow up against our will.
If we grow up at all.

And yet,
we do change our mind about what's important.

So we keep saying what is so
and letting nature take its course.

I wish I had had me for a father.
And, of course I did--I do.

Where would I be without me?
Where would you be without you?
The part of you that has gotten you here/now?

We are not alone.
The best of us takes care of
the worst of us,
and we all benefit from
our association with all of us,
with who we are,
and also are,
and letting nature take its course.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
