Camden Harbor Greets the Day — Camden, Maine
You can't plan it out.
You have to live it all the way through.
Not implementing strategies,
doing this so that will happen,
going here to get there,
like you are some kind of smoking genius
ringing bells and racking up the wins.

The people who know
answer the door
capable of saying "Yes"
to what needs a yes,
and "No,"
to what needs a no.

Get that down and you have it made,
as much as you can have it made,
on a moving scale
between abundance and want.

Being okay with enough
and true to your original nature
in service to your inherent virtues/virtuosities
(What you do best and enjoy doing most)
without undue attention to personal profit
and financial gain,
will place you close to the center
of the normal distribution curve,
and you can trust your intrinsic intuition
to bring you all the good luck any of us require
to keep us in the business
of doing what needs to be done
in the service of what is called for
in each situation as it arises--
and that is all that can be asked of any of us,
all our life long.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
