Camden Harbor 01 10/02/2002 Oil Paint Rendered — Camden, Maine
Start anywhere,
any time.

The path begins with the next step,
in any direction.
Just start walking
with your eyes and ears open,
being aware of everything.

There is nothing more to enlightenment
than realization,
and there is always more to realize
than we realize,
so we are always being enlightened,
we are always waking up,
there is always more to know
than we know.

The Buddha died from eating bad pork!
Shoulda seen that coming, Bro!

There is always something else coming.
Don't be thinking you've seen it all,
or that you know it all.
Always be listening, looking,
being mindfully aware of everything.

It is the way.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
