Sunset, Paamlico Sound — Ocracoke Island, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, Outer Banks, North Carolina

We get up and face the day, day after day, and how well we do that over time
tells the tale.

It is never any more difficult than doing what is called for where, when and how it is called for, day after day.

No?

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.

    1. My love for that scene is underscored by the simplicity of it. Simple and profound in one moment in time. And we are graced by such events throughout our life. Occasionally, we have a camera that helps keep the wonder of the moment ever-present and shareable.
