Finding our way to The Way one situation at a time. I don't know how great it will be, but I expect it will be interesting, and I look forward to it going on past all reason because wonder is just that way. Are you coming or not?
Buddhists worldwide throughout time have been of the opinion that we all have Buddha-nature, we just don't know it.
What if we think of Buddha-nature as intuition?
Intuition will never lead us to do something Buddha-nature would be opposed to us doing.
What's the harm of calling Buddha-nature "Intuition"?
The Buddha was intuitive from the Bo Tree to just before the plate of bad pork. That's all that separated him from everyone else, and all who became intuitive after him were held to be high-up in the ranks of his followers.
Intuition is at the heart of all good things.
Jesus? Intuitive.
And so on through all of time.
Intuition is the secret power uniting us all. All we have to do is get out of the way. Stop thinking. Stop believing. Start intuiting.
I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing.
I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.

May be Buddha knew what that ‘bad pork’ was all about…he did have to leave his mortal body, like anyone else. It would have seemed very odd, if it happened without following the chain of causes-effects, the laws of nature (out of nowhere)!
And, if he knew what he was doing, he committed suicide, which will be my chosen form of exit/transformation unless something else intervenes, and I would much prefer physician assisted suicide when the time comes (And we could say Jesus also committed suicide in initiating the process that led to crucifixion).
Suicide, in a way, is impossible. We do not choose when-where-how-to whom-we are born…it seems to make more sense, that we also can’t choose our exit. Those few who do commit suicide…perhaps that is the way which was ‘chosen’ for them to exit all along? It may be very sad for someone to reach that point, perhaps empowering for a few- but generally biological beings are programmed to want to continue surviving, at least our biological evolution is designed with this objective. Anyone wishing otherwise is doing so out of desperation, fear or a need and hope of absolute freedom to go on his/ her own terms (in your case). How much of this is in our control, I do not know, but my guess is- just like in nature, when our time comes, we go- like a yellow leaf dropping from a tree, without much personal choice involved in it.
And yet, and yet, there are the lemmings on their rush to the sea… and death is but a transition, in the continuation of “energy can’t be created or destroyed, only transformed or converted” kind of way, and, if it is as you say, everything joins the oneness of the All and how they get there is, well, immaterial…
Yes, right! That is precisely why, I don’t think our ‘will/ wish’ is likely to influence how we actually go. As anything else, it will be determined by the flow of the whole…
As far as lemmings are concerned, there is balance in totality, the population of every biological species is naturally regulated in nature, when they exceed and there are not enough resources to support their numbers, they are (without their conscious choice) driven to eventually balance out their numbers in the ecosystem. Lemmings commiting suicide is a myth as far as I know, but I may be wrong about this 🙂
And if you are right, it doesn’t matter what I do because it is all set in motion far beyond anything I can be conscious of, concur with and approve of, so I can simply relax into the drift of things and let my life live itself out. It’s always Island time, I like that. I’m off to do my thing and let the whole merge me in where it will. Perfect for all concerned! I’ve always wanted to have nothing I have to do, and to do the rest with all my heart! Just by relaxing into my intuition and allowing it to direct my path! Beautiful!
