Racoon Going Home — Flat Branch Greenway, Charlotte, North Carolina
(On the tree in the middle of the image, about half-way up [or down])
Trying to effect outcomes--
rather than striving to do what is called for
in each situation as it arises,
and letting the outcome be the outcome
no matter what it may be--
is the single most efficient way
to screw up everything
ever devised.

You could talk to Adam and Eve about that.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.

      1. This is really too small to see, and I posted it as much for the “photo humor” as for the image of a Racoon climbing a tree. He/she is just about the branch of leaves and looks like a fat squirrel. I use an iPhone since selling all of my proper camera paraphernalia earlie)r this year, and am still a rookie at getting the camera to do what I want it to do. In this case it was set for “wide-angle” and I needed it to be “full zoom,” and forget even to look at the setting in my excitement about seeing a Racoon in the wild (A first for me). So, in a sense, this was my first rodeo!
