Finding our way to The Way one situation at a time. I don't know how great it will be, but I expect it will be interesting, and I look forward to it going on past all reason because wonder is just that way. Are you coming or not?
That is basic, fundamental, natural, original, obvious, undeniable TRUTH!
To deny that is to be an idiot. Or worse.
Which is to say the Doctrine of Original Sin is utter heresy, and blasphemy, and disgusting, and obnoxious, and detestable, and worthy of complete, utter, absolute, instantaneous rejection by every living human being everywhere.
Beginning right here, right now.
So what if it upsets cherished applecarts, rocks sacred boats and destroys the foundation of Christian Doctrine worldwide?
I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing.
I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.

A lot of stupidity has gone on for ages in our world, simply because many people who realized the truth of something, shied away from rocking sacred boats…the boats will be rocked sooner or later, if there is any untruth in whatever sacred belief they presume to carry. I applaud you, for having the courage, integrity and conviction to attempt that. It is sadly rare and not as frequently found as it should be…
Throughout history, progress in the service/realization of truth has been a simple matter or (To use a Taoist/Zen [And the two are one] phase) “turning the light around,” and “flipping perspectives.” Life/truth–the truth of life–is an optical illusion, we can look at things one way, and see something entirely different when we look at things a different way, and there are as many ways to look at things as there are religions/denominations afoot in the world, all claiming to be “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” And we no sooner make the feared shift in perspective, as with Copernicus, for example, than it is “like that,” “Why, of course! Why did we not always understand/see things to be this way?” Which becomes the new normal and has to be flipped itself in time.
The more I consider these things..the more blatantly obvious the simplicity of it all becomes…nevertheless it remains complicated for the majority of those who would not bother looking and finding our for themselves. Because when we try to derive meaning from what others have said, we can never relate to it, it remains alien…we don’t own it. The real understanding can only come from our own self, a shift in our own perspective. Just like the optical illusion…No one can convince us what they ‘see’ until we ‘see’ it for our self.
