Finding our way to The Way one situation at a time. I don't know how great it will be, but I expect it will be interesting, and I look forward to it going on past all reason because wonder is just that way. Are you coming or not?

The situation has its own drift,
flow,
spin,
direction,
energy--
and we aren't likely to transform it
into the way we want things to be.
Neither Jesus, nor the Buddha,
were able to change minds
that were not open/ready to be changed.
We can show up
and give it our best,
but if they are hitting our curve ball,
it isn't going to work
to keep throwing it.
It is called dancing with the music,
and not forcing our way.
We take what we are handed
and do what we can,
and let that be that,
hoping things will be different
down the road.
I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing.
I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters and five granddaughters within about twenty minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.

Some point must be in there somewhere. Or maybe, it’s that there will be a point some day, one day, maybe, if we keep showing up and are persistent. Hope or no hope, turning things over, looking beneath leaves, around corners, in mirrors–especially in mirrors! Truth always hides in mirrors! And points!
So much better than wishing my life away!

I have always wondered if you are the artist that graces our communiqués. Thank goodness for this correct spelling feature. Thanks for all you do.
