Bog River Falls 09/01/2015 — Adirondack Park, Tupper Lake, New York
There are places that restore our souls.
That restore us to our souls.
That put us back in the company of our souls.
We should spend more time in those places.

Beauty is truth.
Truth beauty.
Even when it is ugly, horrible, terrible, no good.
Truth does not lie or deceive
and that is the beauty of truth.

We know what's what thanks to truth,
and can gather ourselves for the work that needs to be done.
And do it, when, where, and how it needs to be done.
No matter what.
In each situation as it arises.
And let that be that.

We take our courage from the places of beauty and truth,
and live in the service of beauty and truth,
all our life long.

And all the people said,
"May It Be SO!"

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
