Lake Crandal Mirror 11/06/2018 — Anne Springs Close Greenway, Fort Mill, South Carolina
What would it take
for Donald Trump to be happy?

His chronic dissatisfaction
and his propensity for finding
scapegoats everywhere
keeps everything up in the air
with nowhere to land.

Everything is somebody's fault.
And Trump is going to make them pay.

His fans adore him because The Trump Show
takes their minds off their own malaise--
and their inescapable ultimate realization
that their life is their own fault.

The same thing, of course, applies to Trump.
He is the witless victim of his own life.
And can't stand it.
And the world pays for it.
Just by being there.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
