We generate noise in 10,000 ways,
along with complexity,
drama
and trauma.

We could compensate for that,
if we will,
with emptiness,
stillness
and silence.

In order to maintain our balance and harmony,
remain in the flow of life
through all situations and circumstances,
and live in the way
of life everlasting
in each moment as it arises.

Meeting the moment
as it needs to be met
with the right action
in the right place
and the right way
at the right time
just like we knew what we were doing--
but we don't.

We are just living spontaneously
in response to the needs of the now,
doing what comes naturally,
for the joy of doing it
and the satisfaction
of having done it.

Loving our life and enjoying
the wonders of being alive.

I'm retired, and still finding my way--but now, I don't have to pretend that I know what I'm doing. I retired after 40.5 years as a minister in the Presbyterian Church USA, serving churches in Louisiana, Mississippi and North Carolina. I graduated from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, in Austin, Texas, and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. My wife, Judy, and I have three daughters, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and a great grandson on the way, within about ten minutes from where we live--and are enjoying our retirement as much as we have ever enjoyed anything.
